Mint Chocolate Mousse Tart with Chocolate Cookie Crust and Chocolate Martini’s – Day Two – Chocolate Martinis
This is my first Adult Beverage on Dieter’s Downfall. I really think I need to pair more drinks with desserts. There are so many great dessert options out there.
I’ve really gotta plan more of these!
Because I got to enjoy this Chocolate Martini at 2 in the afternoon when I was done photographing it! BTW – my mother drank the other one
Are you one to order a fancy drink at a bar? I enjoy a drink from time to time, but to be 100% honest with you, it’s the price tag of the drink that always gets me. Who really spends anywhere from 9 to 16 dollars for a drink?? I have a hard time paying 23 bucks for my meal, and then add-on a drink??!! It’s crazy.
Man, I’m totally a cheap date!
I’d much rather buy a few bottles and just drink at home.
I think that Cocktail Parties should become the new rage… then again, that means I’ve gotta clean my house.
Nevermind, I’ll just drink alone at home with my cheap booze at two in the afternoon.
I think that would be safest for everyone involved.
Prep time:
Total time:

- 1½ ounces Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
- 1½ ounces Creme de Cacao
- ½ ounce Vodka
- 2½ ounce half-and-half
- Chocolate Chips, crushed and melted
- Place your martini glass into the fridge to chill.
- Crush a ¼ of chocolate chips and place them on to a large paper plate. Melt ¼ cup of chocolate chips and put them into a baggie.
- Swirl the inside of the martini glass with the melted chocolate. Add some melted chocolate around the rim of the glass and dip it in the crushed chocolate.
- Place a few ice cubes into a shaker. Add all ingredients, shake and pour into the prepared glasses.
After picture taking, we just ‘had’ to drink these! They tasted even better than they looked, and they looked great!
yep! They were good! How do you like your picture?
Love it. Anything with chocolate is a winner in my book. Especially in beverages
I really enjoyed this! I hope you do too!
They look delicious!! I need to branch out more and make some more “fun” drinks like these, but then again…aren’t all drinks fun?!?! And it is a good excuse to add to my barware collection. It is hard to add the chocolate swirl in a highball glass 😉
I think you may have to invest in some proper glasses as well. When I first moved in with my husband, we just bought two of each glass so that we could pretend to be adults and use fancy glasses. Lol!
That is a great idea!! And if I buy the glasses it will force me to branch out in my beverage selection
I agree, I almost never order a drink when I go out. The prices are insane for what you get. If you really want to have fun, go ahead and drink at 2 in the afternoon….and then try and write a blog post. It’s pretty comical, at least for me. 😉 Looks delicious Karyn. I’m up for anything chocolate!!
Karyn, your mom must be so lucky to be sharing this special drink with you that afternoon! Cheers!

Awesome! I will have to make this.
Enjoy! We sure did!
I would love to try these & dip the edges of the glasses in chocolate sprinkles!
Sprinkled rims are always fun! Enjoy!
